Quarter-finalists spotted in Sub Jr National Soccer

Chandigarh, Sep 26 (UNI) Two second half goals helped Mizoram defeat Madhya Pradesh 2-0 and complete the quarter-final line up of the 31st Sub-Junior National Football Championship in Mahilpur near here today.

For the winners, Lalnun Mawia and Lalmun Puia scored in the 65th and 86th minutes respectively.

In an inconsequential match, Uttar Pradesh defeated Chattisgarh 7-0. The scorers were: Himanshu Gupta (36th, 41st), Krishna Kumar (47th ,87th) and Piyush Roy (53rd, 76th and 81st).

Others who have already qualified for the quarter-final league are, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Punjab, Uttrakhand, Assam, Delhi and Goa.

In the quarter-final league, West Bengal, Uttrakhand, Assam and Delhi have been placed in Group A while Mizoram, Punjab, Meghalaya and Goa are in Group B.

West Bengal will take on Uttrakhand and Assam will face Goa in the league matches tomorrow.
