Rafa Benitez fears he may lose his Liverpool job

By Super Admin

London, Oct.22 (ANI): Aware that results dictate who stays or who exits in managerial positions in football, Rafa Benitez has admitted for the first time that he fears he could be out of his Liverpool job sooner than later.

Though he has got the vote of confidence from co-owner George Gillett, as it emerged it would cost 13 million pounds to axe him, the Kop boss knows he is on the brink after Tuesday's defeat at home to Lyon.

"We know results dictate in football. We just have to try to isolate ourselves from talk of a possible purchase of the club and concentrate on the day-by-day work in football terms. A sale and a change of owner is always hugely important for any club. You have to work out how discussions are going. My relations with George Gillett are very correct," The Sun quoted Rafa, as saying.

"I love being at Liverpool, my family is very integrated in the life here and it's not on our minds that this will end soon," he added.

Last night, Reds co-owner Gillett said: "We have just entered into a long-term agreement with Rafa. Our family is extraordinarily pleased with him. We think he is absolutely as good as there is in the business." (ANI)
