Raheem Sterling Confident In His Continued Contribution To Arsenal's Success

Raheem Sterling believes he has a significant role to play at Arsenal as they advance to the Champions League quarter-finals. After assisting in their recent match, he remains optimistic about his contributions despite limited playing time.

Raheem Sterling, currently on loan at Arsenal, expressed optimism about his future contributions to the team. After aiding Arsenal's qualification for the Champions League quarter-finals, he feels he has a significant role in the season's conclusion. Arsenal secured a 9-3 aggregate win against PSV, drawing 2-2 at home after a 7-1 victory in Eindhoven. This sets up a quarter-final clash with Real Madrid.

Sterling played the full match and assisted both of Arsenal's goals, bringing his season tally to four assists and one goal. He was named Player of the Match for his performance. "It was nice to be out there and contribute to the team," Sterling told TNT Sports. "I know what I am capable of. You just want to be playing."

Sterling Confident in Arsenal Contribution

The winger believes he can still make a significant impact at Arsenal, despite limited playing time. "I have not had as many minutes as I would have liked but I have had the opportunities," he said. Sterling remains confident in his ability to help the team, whether playing for 10 minutes or starting matches.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta was satisfied with giving game time to players recovering from injuries or not regularly in first-team plans. Although pleased with the overall result, Arteta expressed disappointment over not winning at home despite leading twice during the match.

Sterling emphasised his readiness to seize any opportunity that comes his way and contribute positively to Arsenal's campaign. "I believe within myself that I have a lot to play here," he stated confidently. Despite being behind in the Premier League standings, Sterling is optimistic about Arsenal's potential for a strong finish.

Arteta acknowledged that fatigue affected their performance in the second half against PSV, resulting in missed opportunities and lack of cohesion due to numerous changes. However, he remains content with their progress and position in the competition.

As Arsenal prepares for their upcoming challenge against Real Madrid, both Sterling and Arteta are focused on improving performances and seizing every opportunity for success.
