Ramires keen on returning to his 'second home' Chelsea

London, March 6: Former Chelsea and Brazilian midfielder Ramires has stated his desire to return to Stamford Bridge and play for the club before hanging up his boots.

Ramires joined Chelsea from Benfica in 2010 for a reported €22million and played 160 games for the Blues. In that time, the midfielder established himself as one of the important midfielders of the Premier League.

The Brazilan also helped Chelsea to win a Premier League title and an FA Cup, as well as winning both the Champions League and the Europa League.

However, after the arrival of Antonio Conte, Ramires lost his place in the squad and later joined Chinese club Jiangsu Suning on a four-year contract with transfer fee being a reported £25million in January 2016.

But the player now has stated that he has a dream of representing the Blues again and will welcome a return to his 'Second home' Chelsea at some stage in his career in future.

Speaking to UOL Esporte, the 30-year-old said: "Chelsea? I’ll always have a special affection for them and I want to play for them again before finishing my career.

"I was recently treating an injury I had at the club and I can say that, without a doubt, it's like my second home there.

"I know the doors of Stamford Bridge will always be open to me and that wearing their jersey again would be spectacular."

The Brazilian midfielder was heavily linked with Inter throughout the winter transfer window given Suning Group own both the Nerazzurri and Jiangsu, but the midfielder eventually stayed in China.

And while talking about the potential return to Europe, the Brazilian suggested he did not receive any proper offer and as of now, he is only eying a strong future with his Current Chinese Super League side.

He added: "There’s been lots of talk about Inter, but nothing concrete has come my way, at least until today.

"Everyone knows Inter are a great club and that playing in Europe again is a wish of mine, but for now I’m thinking about helping Jiangsu have a great 2018."

Ramires has played 70 matches for the CSL side till now and has registered 16 goals along with 11 assists.
