Rangers' Strong Performance Against Motherwell Prepares Them For Celtic In League Cup Final

Philippe Clement emphasises the importance of Rangers' recent victory over Motherwell as they gear up for the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic. He believes consistent performances can lead to success.

Rangers' recent performance against Motherwell should set the standard for their season, according to Phillipe Clement. This victory has paved the way for a Scottish League Cup final against Celtic. On Sunday, Rangers secured a 2-1 win with goals from Cyriel Dessers and Nedim Bajrami. This came a day after Celtic's dominant 6-0 win over Aberdeen in the first semi-final.

Dessers equalised by converting Connor Barron's cross in the 49th minute. Bajrami then scored with a deflected shot nine minutes before the end, easing pressure on Clement. Despite a challenging Premiership season, Rangers trail Celtic by nine points. They will meet Celtic in the League Cup final on December 15.

Rangers Prepare for Celtic After Motherwell Win

Clement believes that if Rangers consistently replicate their Hampden Park performance, they can achieve significant success. "We can go where we want to be, which is the final," he told Premier Sports. "We had that amazing feeling together with the fans last season and we can battle for that again."

Clement emphasised that this match should serve as a benchmark for his squad. He wants them to emulate last season's resilience by maintaining belief and fighting spirit in every situation. "To do what we've been doing a lot last season, to dig in and in every situation to keep our belief, to keep on going, to keep on fighting and to break the wall if we go behind..."

The manager stressed the importance of maintaining this mentality consistently throughout the season. "This can be a massive game at the end of the season to have this one as a reference," he added. "I want to see, every three days, this mentality."

Rangers' determination and teamwork were evident in their comeback against Motherwell. As they prepare for their upcoming challenges, including the final against Celtic, Clement hopes this victory will inspire his team to strive for excellence regularly.

As Rangers gear up for future matches, they aim to carry forward the momentum from their recent triumphs. The upcoming clash with Celtic presents an opportunity for redemption and further success this season.
