Marcus Rashford Sets Ambitious Goal To Win Champions League With Aston Villa

Marcus Rashford has joined Aston Villa on loan and aims to win the Champions League. He believes he fits well into Unai Emery's plans and is eager to contribute.

Marcus Rashford has expressed his desire to clinch the Champions League title with Aston Villa following his loan move from Manchester United. The 27-year-old forward joined Villa on a loan deal that extends until the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. Villa holds an option to purchase him for £40 million once the loan period ends.

Rashford's recent form at Manchester United saw him make 15 Premier League appearances this season, scoring four goals. However, he hasn't played since being omitted from the squad for the Manchester derby on December 15. Last season, he struggled to replicate his impressive 2022-23 campaign, where he netted 30 goals in 56 matches, including 17 in the Premier League.

Rashford Aims for Champions League Success

The England international believes he is well-suited to Unai Emery's tactical setup at Aston Villa and is eager to contribute significantly during his loan spell. "It's an ambitious time for this club and a great opportunity for me to join the team and help them keep pushing forward," Rashford shared with VillaTV. He added, "I'm excited, can't wait for the first training session and obviously the first game."

Rashford praised Unai Emery's impact at Aston Villa, stating, "[Unai Emery is] a top manager and what he's done at the club since he's come to Villa is unbelievable." The constant ambition of the club was a major factor in his decision to join. He emphasized that aiming high in competitions like the Champions League is crucial for success.

Rashford aims to rediscover his best form and believes Aston Villa provides an ideal environment for his playing style. "I've had to choose somewhere where I feel my style of football is suited to and can help them and help me rediscover and improve as a player," he explained.

He remains focused on making a significant impact both in domestic competitions and in Europe. "We're obviously still in the Champions League; we want to go as far as we can in that," Rashford stated. His primary goal is winning it while also striving for high league standings.

Rashford could potentially make his debut for Aston Villa in their upcoming FA Cup match against Tottenham on Sunday. His presence is expected to boost Villa's attacking options as they aim for success across various competitions.
