Barcelona have secured Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United. Rashford, who was out of favour with Ruben Amorim last season, spent the latter half on loan at Aston Villa. During his time there, he contributed directly to nine goals across all competitions, surpassing any Manchester United player's goal involvement in the same period.
Despite his performance at Villa, Rashford is not part of Manchester United's plans this season. Matheus Cunha's arrival has seen Rashford lose his number 10 shirt at Old Trafford. Consequently, he has now joined Barcelona, the reigning LaLiga champions. The club missed out on Nico Williams, who chose to remain at Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona reportedly have an option to purchase Rashford for approximately €30 million (£26 million) next year. They are also set to cover his entire salary during the loan period. However, due to ongoing financial constraints, they are currently unable to register him officially.
Rashford has been a prolific player for Manchester United since his senior debut in 2016. He has scored 138 goals and provided 60 assists, totalling 198 goal contributions. Of these goals, 87 were netted in the Premier League alone.
As Rashford moves to Barcelona, Manchester United have completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. The deal is reportedly worth £65 million with potential add-ons of up to £6 million.
In the 2024-25 season across all competitions, Rashford averaged a goal contribution every 128 minutes. His move to Barcelona marks a significant shift as he seeks new opportunities with the Spanish giants.
The option for Barcelona to buy Rashford adds an interesting dynamic to their squad planning. If exercised, it could provide them with a valuable asset in future campaigns.
