Real Madrid Dressing Room Expresses Full Support For Coach Xabi Alonso Amidst Recent Struggles

Jude Bellingham has stated that the Real Madrid dressing room remains fully behind coach Xabi Alonso despite recent challenges. Following a defeat to Manchester City, he emphasised the team's commitment to overcoming their current form and maintaining unity.

Real Madrid's recent 2-1 loss to Manchester City at Santiago Bernabeu has intensified pressure on coach Xabi Alonso. Despite taking an early lead through Rodrygo, Madrid couldn't hold on as Nico O'Reilly and Erling Haaland scored for City. This defeat adds to a troubling run, with only two wins in their last eight matches across all competitions.

Jude Bellingham, speaking to TNT Sports, expressed unwavering support for Alonso. "We're behind the manager 100%," he stated. Bellingham emphasised his strong relationship with Alonso and noted that many teammates share this sentiment. He assured fans that the team remains committed and is not giving up despite recent setbacks.

Bellingham: Madrid Team Backs Coach Alonso

Madrid's recent form against English clubs in the Champions League has been concerning. They have lost their last four encounters with English teams, including matches against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City. This marks only their second such losing streak against teams from a single nation in European competition history.

Bellingham acknowledged the challenges within the team but remained optimistic about turning things around. "We have what we need to turn it around," he said, suggesting that some internal discussions or a bit of luck might be necessary to change their fortunes. He remains hopeful for the season despite the current poor form.

Since last season, Madrid has lost five league-phase games in the Champions League. This number equals their total losses in group stages from 2019-20 to 2023-24 combined. The team's struggles have raised questions about their game management and ability to handle pressure during crucial moments.

Bellingham also addressed personal scrutiny, stating, "It's just life. This is what I've signed up for." Playing for a high-profile club like Real Madrid comes with intense scrutiny, but he embraces it as part of living his dream. He remains focused on rolling with the punches and prioritising his performance on the field.

Despite external pressures and challenges on the pitch, Bellingham remains confident in his team's potential to recover from this slump. He believes that with determination and perhaps some good fortune, they can still achieve success this season without letting current difficulties define them.
