London, Jan 24: The agent of Karim Benzema, Karim Djaziri, has slammed the Bernabeu crowds who booed the player during their 7-1 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday as he insisted the player deserves more respect from the supporters.
Benzema has been facing a dip in form for the last couple of seasons and this season the player has seen his performances being the worst of the lot as he is been terrible in front goals in most of the matches.
The player has only scored five in 21 matches over all competitions and also hit the woodwork, six times more than his goal scoring stat.
After having an illustrious term last season where they won both La Liga and Champions League, the Los Blancos are currently facing a torrid time in the league, being fourth in the table, 19 points behind leaders Barcelona and in most of the matches their struggles in front of the goals came to haunt them eventually.
Madrid, however, knocked their criticism in the last match where they won 7-1 against Deportivo La Coruna but when Benzema was introduced in the game as a sub the crowd welcomed the French player with boos all over.
The 30-year-old was returning in the game after suffering a hamstring injury however the crowd seemed to have not impressed with the inclusion.
And now his agent, Djaziri has bemoaned the "unfair" treatment of the Real Madrid forward and suggested it is incomprehensible that Real Madrid's fans would boo a player who has given so much to the club.
"[Benzema] has been nine years at the club of his dreams," Djaziri said.
"It is unfair that he is whistled, in Madrid were winning the game and he was coming back from a month out injured. Karim has always showed exemplary commitment to the club and has looked for the team before himself. He does not deserve this."
Benzema has been at the Bernabeu side since 2009 and has won 15 trophies during his time at Madrid, including the Champions League three times and La Liga two times, scoring 185 goals in the process.
However, there are rumours speculating that the player could now be on the move after such negative criticisms but his agent dismissed such reports and suggested the player will put stay at Madrid and prove his doubters wrong.
"No, as Benzema feels that the true Madrid fans are with him," he said. "He is going to show that he deserves their support."
"He feels the support of many Real Madrid fans, the club and his teammates. He has always felt the love of Madrid but this latest incident is simply difficult to understand."
