The LaLiga match between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid was halted in the 2nd half after fans allegedly threw objects at Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
It was a heated Madrid derby to say the least, but the act from the Atletico Madrid supporter broke many barriers. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate as Angel Correa scored a 96th-minute goal to cancel out Eder Militao's opener for Real Madrid.

But it is the Courtois saga with the fans that has been catching all the attention. Militao's goal led to a contentious atmosphere that soon spiralled out of control.
Objects began raining down from the stands, filled with Atletico Madrid supporters clad in their team's red and white, targeting Real Madrid's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. With several lighters and other items thrown at him, the safety of the players came into question. As per reports, a bag of faeces was also hurled at the Belgian goalkeeper, who has since been pictured while putting it away.
Referee Mateo Busquets Ferrer found himself in the midst of the chaos, forced to pause the game as Courtois dealt with the onslaught of objects. The interruption saw Courtois, hesitant to proceed with a goal kick, clearing more items from the pitch. He was also hit by a lighter on the head, which some reports have claimed had a knife in it.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the referee consulted with both Courtois and then summoned Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti and Atlético Madrid's Diego Simeone to the touchline for a discussion about the incident.
The decision was soon made to remove the players from the immediate danger, sending both teams back to the locker rooms. Simeone continued to talk with Atletico fans to behave and after a brief hiatus lasting around ten minutes, authorities managed to secure the environment, allowing the game to resume.
Courtois, who made three saves in the match for Real Madrid, played 154 matches for Atletico Madrid in the early days of his career. The 32-year-old switched to Real, which caused grievance for many Atleti fans, and then his actions after Real Madrid took the lead escalated the issue as it went beyond control.
