Real Madrid Next Manager: As Carlo Ancelotti nears departure, Why Jurgen Klopp rejects to become next Real Coach?

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly turned down an offer from Real Madrid, reiterating his dedication to a coaching break that is expected to extend through at least the summer of 2026. This choice comes amid speculation linking him to the manager’s role at the Santiago Bernabeu, following Real Madrid's recent Champions League elimination and imminent managerial transitions.

Meanwhile, the current Los Blancos manager, Carlo Ancelotti is preparing to end his decorated stint at Real Madrid, having agreed to take over as head coach of the Brazil national team. Ancelotti’s spell at the club has been filled with notable achievements, including three UEFA Champions League crowns (2014, 2022, 2024), two La Liga titles (2022, 2024), and a total of 15 trophies, making him the most decorated manager in the club’s history. His exit comes after a season that, despite some challenges, further enhanced his reputation as one of the sport's greatest coaches.

Why has Jurgen Klopp Rejected the Offer to Join Real Madrid?

Klopp currently holds the role of Head of Global Football at the Red Bull football group, overseeing the strategic planning for clubs including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, and Red Bull Bragantino. This position gives him the ability to shape football development worldwide, matching his broader goals for the sport.

Though frequently linked with high-profile managerial roles, Klopp stays dedicated to his executive duties, with no plans to return to coaching shortly. His agent, Marc Kosicke, has stated that Klopp is "very happy" in this position and has no intention of resuming a coaching career anytime soon.

Klopp’s decision is also consistent with his enduring belief in fostering long-term projects and preserving club values. His spell at Liverpool was built around developing a unified team over several years, a method that may not suit Real Madrid's typically immediate expectations for success.

At Liverpool, Klopp made a lasting impression on the club during his transformative nine-year spell. Since his appointment in 2015, he rejuvenated the squad, guiding them to a Champions League title in 2019 and breaking a 30-year drought with a Premier League win in 2020. During this time, he implemented a high-energy, attacking system and helped develop standout players like Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, cementing Liverpool's place among Europe’s elite.

Still, this isn’t Klopp’s first refusal of Real Madrid. Back in 2019, he declined an offer from the Spanish giants, expressing a preference for Liverpool’s balance of financial support and club culture over Real Madrid’s more commercial emphasis. Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon also revealed that Klopp had been approached before Rafa Benítez's appointment but chose not to accept.
