Bengaluru, September 4: Alexis Sanchez grabbed the spotlight throughout the summer transfer window and was rumoured to be unsettled at Arsenal, despite a lot of reports linking him with a move away from the Emirates, the Gunners managed to keep hold of their star player.

Alexis Sanchez still remains an Arsenal player but for how long? That will be a big question running through the minds of the fans.

PSG and Manchester City were constantly interested in the Chilean but the former cooled their interest after signing Neymar on a world-record fee and they also signed Kylian Mbappe later.

It was mostly Manchester City who were linked with the Chilean superstar till the deadline day but Arsene Wenger refused to sell his best player to a direct rival.

Recent reports claim that European champions Real Madrid turned down Alexis Sanchez on the transfer deadline day.

According to 'The Express', the Chilean's agent contacted Real Madrid to offer them the player following the failed move to City, Sanchez had previously played for Real's rivals Barcelona.

However, the report claims that Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane thought the club did not need him.

Sanchez was involved directly in 34 Premier League goals last season, but a minor injury problem has restricted him to just one outing so far this term.

Arsenal made a massive statement by retaining Alexis Sanchez despite the club struggling for form and being absent from Champions League but financially it was a big risk for them as Sanchez will be out of contract next summer and could leave the club for free.

It seems very unlikely that the Chilean will sign a new contract and he will be allowed to talk to other clubs in January for a pre-contract agreement and we can expect a big competition for his signature.
