Bengaluru, February 2: According to reports in Spain and England, Real Madrid misfit James Rodriguez reportedly wants to reignite his career at Liverpool.
The Colombian wants to replace Philippe Coutinho in the Anfield engine room. The Brazilian made his big-money move to Barcelona this month and Liverpool have opted not to sign his replacement and Rodriguez himself wants the opportunity if reports are to be believed.
Coutinho famously kicked on his career at Liverpool after a disappointing spell at Inter Milan and Rodriguez also wants to reach his heights once again with the Merseyside club.
Rodriguez, who shot to fame with a string of eye-catching performances during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, was sent out on a two-year loan by Real Madrid to Bayern Munich in the summer.
He has done really well at Allianz Arena so far barring his injury problems in mid-season but he believes that Liverpool could offer him a stage to shine on a regular basis rather than an all-star side like Bayern.
El Gol Digital say Rodriguez, who will head back to the Bernabeu at the end of the season after an impressive time in the Bundesliga, now wants to try his luck in England.
He is reportedly a big fan of Liverpool and especially of Jurgen Klopp under whom his creative prowess could excel.
Liverpool had a tremendous pressure from fans to replace Coutinho in January but Klopp repeatedly made it clear that he will only sign a player whom he wants but he is not available at the moment.
That could certainly mean James Rodriguez who is in the middle of his loan spell with Bayern right now.
