Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe angers France head coach, former Man United defender questions Leadership

Kylian Mbappe's swift recovery from an injury and subsequent return to the field has sparked frustration in the France national team as head coach Didier Deschamps not impressed with the Real Madrid superstar.

Initially sidelined for three weeks after an injury during a match between Real Madrid and Alaves, Mbappe made a comeback in just nine days to play against Lille in the UEFA Champions League.

This rapid return after his exclusion from the France squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures have led to discontent among the team's management. They had anticipated his absence due to injury, but now feel as if the French captain has distanced himself from national duties.

The discontentment stems from a reported feeling among the coaching staff that Mbappe has opted out of participating with the national team. France, currently in the second position in Group 2, is looking ahead to matches against Hungary and Belgium on October 11.

Along with that, a recent criticism from former France player Patrice Evra has further heightened speculations. Evra questioned Mbappe's leadership but sparked controversy by comparing him with Benzema.

On RMC Sport show Rothen S'enflamme, Evra stated, "You gave him the keys to PSG, you gave him the keys to the French national team, but Mbappe is still a young player. With all due respect to him, he has not yet reached Benzema's level."

Evra also continued saying that he would prefer Antoine Griezmann as captain of Les Bleus over Mbappe.

"Of course, I would have given the armband to Griezmann, without hesitation. I would never have given it to Mbappe. How do you want him to be motivated afterwards? If we give him everything, will you want to make the effort?," the former Man United player added.

Mbappe has made a terrific start to his Real Madrid career. The France international has already netted 7 goals for Los Blancos in 11 appearances so far.
