Barcelona's trip to Madrid to face the defending La Liga champions at their home, Santiago Bernabeu, on Saturday resulted in a 4-0 win for the visitors. This dominating win put Barca six points clear of their rival and further cemented their spot at the top of the table.
After an eventless first half, Barcelona took the lead thanks to two quick goals by Robert Lewandowski within two minutes. Later Hansi Flick's boys extended the lead with a goal from a difficult angle by the 17-year-old Lamine Yamal. In the 84th minute of the match Brazilian forward Raphinha made it 4-0 with a lobbed shot over the Real goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

With his goal, Lamine Yamal created a new El Clasico record. At the age of 17 years, 106 days, the Barca youngster became the youngest goalscorer in the history of El Clasico. He broke the 77-year-old record of Alfonso Navarro, who scored twice in a 3-2 win over Real in 1947, at the age of 17 years and 365 days.
Yamal has already scored six goals and provided five assists in La Liga this season after clinching the UEFA European Championships Young Player of the Tournament award in the Euro 2024.
Ansu Fati and Gavi had the chance to break Navarro's 77-year-long record in recent years, but they failed to do so despite having impressive seasons.
This win for Barcelona also made Hansi Flick the first Barca manager since Gerardo Martino in 2013 to win in their first El Clasico. Whereas, after the first defeat of the season, Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti pointed out the lack of clinicalness of his side in front of the goal. The next match for Los Blancos is against the bottom-placed Valencia, who have just seven points so far with only one win in 11 matches.
On Yamal's goal Ancelotti said, "Until the goal, it was an even game". "When they score, it saps some energy from you and it becomes another game. They did a lot of damage on the counter," he added.
