Real Madrid's Carvajal Ruled Out Until 2023 With Calf Injury

By MyKhel Team

Real Madrid right back Dani Carvajal is set to miss games until the new year due to a left calf injury, as revealed by tests conducted on Monday. The injury occurred during Madrid's 2-0 victory over Granada in the Spanish league, leading to Carvajal being substituted at halftime.

The extent of the injury suggests Carvajal will be sidelined for approximately a month, causing him to miss around five matches.

This includes four fixtures in the Spanish league and the upcoming Champions League match against Union Berlin. Although Madrid has already secured the top spot in the group, Carvajal's absence is a setback for the team, which is currently leading the Spanish league alongside Girona.

The right back may potentially return for the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Atletico Madrid in Saudi Arabia on January 10. In the meantime, Lucas Vázquez is expected to fill Carvajal's position.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is facing a string of injuries, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and central defender Éder Militão both dealing with serious knee problems.

Additionally, several key players, including Luka Modric, Vinícius Júnior, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Arda Guler, are currently sidelined.

Carvajal's injury adds to the challenges faced by Ancelotti, who is managing a squad with multiple key players unavailable. The absence of crucial contributors in various positions could impact Madrid's performance in both domestic and international competitions.

Despite the setbacks, Real Madrid remains competitive, leading the Spanish league alongside Girona.

The upcoming matches, including the Champions League fixture, will test the team's depth and resilience in the absence of key players, with the hope that Carvajal can make a timely return for the crucial Spanish Super Cup semifinal in January.
