Why PSG want Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos out of the club? Revealed

PSG duo Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos may be allowed to leave the club for free, according to French outlet L'Equipe.

PSG are dwelling on their two superstars Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos and it is reported that the French club will be content to let both of them go without any transfer fee. Both Ramos and Messi have been an integral part of their squad so far this season.

Sergio Ramos

The French club are out of the Champions League but are currently leading the Ligue 1 table. Messi has been in immense form for them, scoring 18 goals across all competitions. But the French club are reluctant to keep the duo to evade the earth of Financial Fair Play sanctions.

The club was under the radar and then hit by sanctions last September, which led to an £8.6 million fine. But come next season, the fine can rise to a further £56.3 million depending on the way they act in the transfer window.

Messi and Ramos wage at PSG

Both Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos are high earners at the French club. According to L'Equipe, Messi earns around £740k each week, while Ramos is also on a significant wage. Clearing their wage will save PSG more than £5 million per month and that will be a huge boost to repel the Financial sanctions for the Ligue 1 champions.

Messi

Amid the conundrum, PSG are willing to avoid any financial loss due to fine and are said to be keen on offloading Ramos and Messi. Argentina legend Lionel Messi and former Spain international Sergio Ramos joined the club in 2021.

It will come as a massive blow for the club on a broader scale as both the stalwarts were brought in at the club to win the Champions League. Ramos and Messi both have won the World Cup with Spain and Argentina respectively. They have also won multiple Champions League titles with Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
