Roberto Firmino Reflects On Historic Achievements With Al-Ahli Before Joining Al Sadd

Roberto Firmino expresses pride in his contributions to Al-Ahli, where he scored 14 goals and assisted nine during his two-year stay. He leaves to join Al Sadd after winning the Asian Champions League.

Roberto Firmino has expressed pride in contributing to Al-Ahli's historic achievements as he departs the Saudi Pro League club. Firmino is moving to Al Sadd in Qatar, ending his two-year tenure at Al-Ahli after joining from Liverpool. The Brazilian forward has signed a two-year contract with Al Sadd, who were the champions of the Qatar Stars League last season.

During his time with Al-Ahli, Firmino was instrumental in their success. He scored 14 goals and provided nine assists in the Pro League. Additionally, he created 58 opportunities for his teammates to score. His contributions were crucial in helping Al-Ahli secure the Asian Champions League Elite title last season, where he netted six goals across 12 matches.

Firmino's Historic Tenure at Al-Ahli

Firmino's impact was celebrated by Al-Ahli, who acknowledged his legacy on social media. "Thank you, Firmino your legacy lives on at #AlAhli Forever part of our story forever one of us. Together, through time!" read a tweet from the club's official account.

In a farewell video, Firmino reflected on his time with the club: "I'm happy because we made history at the club during these two years together," he said. "The best moment was to become the champions of Asia. I'm very grateful for this."

Firmino played a pivotal role in Al-Ahli's triumph over Kawasaki Frontale in the Champions League Elite final by assisting both goals in their 2-0 victory. At 33 years old, Firmino joins an elite group of players who have won continental titles in both Europe and Asia, alongside teammates Edouard Mendy and Riyad Mahrez.

His departure marks the end of a successful chapter for both Firmino and Al-Ahli. As he embarks on a new journey with Al Sadd, his contributions to Al-Ahli will be remembered fondly by fans and teammates alike.
