Robin van Persie suffers horrific eye injury, may lose sight in one eye

Robin van Persie may lose vision in one eye after he suffered a horrific injury while playing for Fenerbahce against Akhisar Belediyespor.

Istanbul, Nov 7: Former Arsenal and Manchester United star striker Robin van Persie suffered a horrific eye injury while playing in the Super Lig for Fenerbahce against Akhisar Belediyespor.

According to reports from Turkey, the injury is serious and the 33-year-old striker may permanently lose vision in one eye.

Robin van Persie's eye injury

Fenerbahce's doctor Burak Kunduraciogl was quoted by BBC, he said: "He received a blow to the eye and suffered a torn eyelid and bleeding.

"After the investigations, we learned that nothing important happened. His condition is good."

From the pictures we have seen, Robin van Persie's left eye got severely bruised during a clash with a Akhisar Belediyespor defender.
