Rodri, a key player for Manchester City and Spain, recently shared his thoughts on the greatest footballer of all time. He believes Lionel Messi surpasses Cristiano Ronaldo in this regard. Rodri, who won the 2024 Ballon d'Or after securing the Champions League in 2023 and Euro 2024 with Spain, expressed his views during an interview on Spanish television.

Messi's recent achievements include winning three of the last four Ballon d'Or awards before Rodri's win. Rodri stated, "Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time, without any doubt. Cristiano has managed to match Messi without innate talent. But those of us who have played against them can see the difference." He highlighted that while Ronaldo was lethal in the box, Messi posed a threat across the entire pitch.

Ronaldo has an impressive record with 928 goals for club and country and has secured 34 major trophies, including five Champions League titles. He has also been awarded the Ballon d'Or five times. In contrast, Messi has scored 877 goals and won the Champions League four times along with five Ballon d'Or awards, most recently in 2023.
