Roma have secured the services of Brazilian right-back Wesley from Flamengo. The transfer is valued at €25 million, with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons. Wesley, who debuted for Brazil's senior team in March, initially joined Flamengo from Clube Atletico Tubarao in 2020. His contributions were pivotal in Flamengo's Copa Libertadores victory in 2022.

Wesley played a crucial role as Flamengo reached the Club World Cup's last 16 this year, though they were defeated 4-2 by Bayern Munich. His performances caught the attention of several European clubs, prompting his move. Flamengo facilitated his departure after acquiring Emerson Royal from AC Milan.

The young defender has committed to a five-year contract with Roma and will don the number 43 jersey. This makes him the 46th Brazilian to play for the club. Wesley joins as the third senior signing under new manager Gian Piero Gasperini, following Neil El Aynaoui and Evan Ferguson.
