Bengaluru, September 5: Manchester United re-signed Swedish superstar football Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer after releasing the 35-year-old earlier and this brings competition for the club’s newly signed striker Romelu Lukaku.

However, the big Belgian claims that he is not afraid of the fact that the club have signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Rather, he is looking forward to lining up next to the veteran hitman this season.

Lukaku has kicked off his debut season for United in sublime fashion, netting three times in as many Premier League outings.

The 24-year-old told reporters while on international duty: “I said to Zlatan I hoped he would be back. We need his personality.

“He will bring many qualities to the team, and help us in our goal of winning the title. I don’t fear the competition as a striker, or Zlatan.

“Things are going really well for me at United, the pre-season was good and it helped knowing a lot of the players before arriving.

“The manager has helped me a lot to settle quickly, so it has all been very positive.

“I am now with a coach that I have wanted to play with for a long time, since I was 11 years of age. And with him we are looking to do something special.”

Lukaku has managed to keep up his goalscoring form in the internationals as well which will definitely make Mourinho even more happy.

The Belgian bagged a hat-trick for Belgium as they thrashed Gibraltar 9-0 in the World Cup qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic has been surprisingly named in United’s Champions League squad, which dropped the biggest hint yet that he is close to a return from injury.

The Swede has been stuck on the sidelines since April after picking up a serious knee injury during the Europa League win against Anderlecht.
