Tottenham's Cristian Romero Injury Not Serious; Richarlison Faces Extended Absence

Tottenham's Cristian Romero has avoided serious injury following a match against Aston Villa, while Richarlison is expected to be sidelined for an extended period due to a hamstring issue. Both players will miss the upcoming Europa League fixture.

Tottenham Hotspur are optimistic that Cristian Romero has not suffered a major injury. However, Richarlison is expected to be out for some time after both players were forced off the field during Sunday's 4-1 victory over Aston Villa. The match saw Romero and Richarlison substituted in the second half at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Richarlison sustained his injury while assisting Dominic Solanke's third goal. Meanwhile, Romero, who won the World Cup with Argentina, appeared to injure his foot. This adds to the team's concerns as Micky van de Ven is already unavailable. Neither player will participate in Thursday's Europa League match against Galatasaray.

Romero Injury Minor; Richarlison Out for Now

Ange Postecoglou provided updates on his squad ahead of the Galatasaray game. He mentioned that Timo Werner is dealing with a groin issue and did not travel. Mikey Moore also stayed behind due to a virus he contracted recently. "I think everyone else who's fit and eligible is here," Postecoglou stated.

Postecoglou expressed hope regarding Romero's condition, saying, "Romero, I think, is nothing too serious, hopefully." He added that there might be a chance for Romero to play against Ipswich Town this weekend. However, Richarlison's hamstring injury seems more severe, with Postecoglou noting, "I'm still getting the final information, but I think he'll be out for a while."

The upcoming match against Galatasaray presents a formidable challenge for Tottenham given their current injuries. Despite this, Postecoglou remains enthusiastic about the encounter. "We're looking forward to it," he said. He praised the stadium's atmosphere and acknowledged Galatasaray as a strong team.

Postecoglou highlighted the excitement of playing in Europe regardless of age or role within the team. "It's exactly the kind of games you want to be involved in in Europe," he remarked. The manager is eager for his team to experience such high-stakes matches.

Although Tottenham face difficulties with key players sidelined, they remain focused on their European campaign. The team aims to overcome these challenges and perform well against Galatasaray in what promises to be an intense match.
