Ronaldo-Messi showdown in major doubt after Al-Nassr postpone China tour - Details of Al-Nassr's China tour cancellation

Al-Nassr's winter tour in China has been postponed after their star attacker Cristiano Ronaldo suffered an injury. The Portugal international was recently spotted with a tape wrapped around his calf.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid attacker could be out of action for two to three weeks. The organisers have now confirmed that the tour has been postponed due to the attacker's fitness issue.

A statement from the organisers read (via CristianoXtra on X): "I am very sorry to inform you that the Al Nassr Winter Tour will be postponed due to Cristiano Ronaldo's injury.

Ronaldo is also frustrated having picked out the injury and also released a statement on social media. He apologized to the Chinese fans for the tour being cancelled because of his injury.

The 38-year-old said: "As you know, in football some things you cannot control. I have played 22 years in football and I am a player that doesn’t have too many injuries. So I’m really sad because Al-Nassr and myself have come to China to enjoy the tour. I have been coming to China since 2003/2004, so I feel at home here – my second home."

He added: "I felt that I am always special here. I feel sad. I know you are sad too, especially the people who love Cristiano, but we have to see this in a good way. We have not cancelled the game, we want to push for the game and be back here. We will be back."

With Ronaldo's injury, his availability against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami remains uncertain. Al-Nassr's scheduled games against Shanghai Shenhua and Zhejiang (January 24 and 28, respectively) have both been postponed. It is understood that those matches may be set for a later date.

However, the whole football world has been waiting for the big clash on February 1 where Cristiano Ronaldo was scheduled to face Lionel Messi in a mega clash between Al-Nassr and Inter Miami. But, the chances of the much-anticipated game also look bleak now. As per French outlet RCM Sport, the two greats of football are unlikely to face each other for the 37th time in their career.

Even at the age of 38, Ronaldo's fitness levels have been extraordinary just as has been the case with him throughout his illustrious career. The Portuguese great has 25 appearances across competitions this season scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists. In 36 meetings between Messi and Ronaldo, the former has won 16 times while Ronaldo has won 11 games with nine games ending in stalemates.
