London, June 20 : Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the possibilities of a transfer to Spanish club Real Madrid were high.
Ronaldo spoke of his future plans and his need for a minor foot operation last night after Portugal's exit from Euro 2008.
Asked about a move to Madrid, Ronaldo replied: "The possibilities to go are great, but as I have always said it doesn't always depend on me."
"In the next few days we will see if we can arrive at an agreement. I have many desires and in the next few days they will become clear," he added.
Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes know Real Madrid will table a world-record 80million pounds bid and put enormous pressure on United to accept, The Sun reported.
And the next step could be for Ronaldo to go on strike if United refuse to do a deal - as revealed in SunSport.
The former Porto winger fanned the flames by describing a move to Real as "a dream, a step forward."
"For me it's a very good opportunity. As Scolari says, this only happens once," Ronaldo said.
And asked when he decided he wanted to quit Old Trafford, Ronaldo revealed: "Some time ago, before this competition. I didn't want to say anything because we were in competition and these are important decisions."
Ronaldo claimed that leaving United would be difficult, and added that it would be good for both.
