Manchester United have announced that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club following Ruben Amorim's appointment at Old Trafford. Van Nistelrooy, who returned in July on a two-year deal as Erik ten Hag's assistant, took over temporarily after Ten Hag was dismissed last month. During his brief stint, he led the team to victories against Leicester City in the EFL Cup and PAOK in the Europa League.
Van Nistelrooy's tenure also included a 1-1 draw with Chelsea and concluded with a 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester City. Despite these achievements, Amorim, who started his new position on Monday, opted not to retain Van Nistelrooy. The club stated that the complete men's first-team coaching lineup will be revealed soon.

In a statement, Manchester United expressed their gratitude towards Van Nistelrooy: "Ruud is and always will be a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford."
Alongside Van Nistelrooy, assistant Rene Hake, goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and analyst Pieter Morel have also exited the club. However, former midfielder Darren Fletcher will continue in his coaching role. He remains an important link between the first team and the academy.
The changes come as part of a broader restructuring under Amorim's leadership. The club aims to build on recent successes while preparing for future challenges. The decision reflects a strategic shift as Manchester United seeks to enhance its competitive edge in domestic and international competitions.
These developments mark another chapter in Manchester United's ongoing evolution. The club continues to adapt its strategies and personnel to meet the demands of modern football while honouring its rich history and traditions.
