Ryan Christie Extends Bournemouth Contract Through 2029 As Bournemouth Secure European Football

Ryan Christie has committed to a new three-year deal with Bournemouth, securing the Scotland international at the club until June 2029. The agreement follows a strong 2025-26 campaign in which Bournemouth finished sixth in the Premier League and booked a Europa League place for the first time.

Christie originally arrived at Bournemouth in August 2021 and made an instant impact. The midfielder helped the Cherries return to the Premier League in his debut season, then remained a regular as the team stabilised in the top flight and steadily climbed the table across subsequent campaigns.

During the 2025-26 Premier League season, Christie featured 26 times and scored twice. Those performances came as Bournemouth achieved European football for the first time in club history. The sixth-place finish ensured a Europa League spot and provided the context for the club to agree Christie's new contract.

Speaking to the club’s website after signing the extension, Christie explained the timing and personal meaning of the new agreement. The midfielder linked the decision to Bournemouth’s European qualification and the upcoming World Cup, stressing the value of having long-term plans settled early.

It feels brilliant. I'm absolutely delighted, to be fair, he told the club's website. Especially after the way the season finishedit's been such an incredible year for the club with qualifying for Europe. I'm really looking forward to next season already. With the World Cup coming up as well, it felt like the perfect time to get this sorted before heading away for that, and now I can fully focus on next season. Honestly, I already want it to start.

The agreement means Bournemouth retain an experienced midfielder who has been central to their rise since 2021. Christie now heads into the Europa League campaign and the World Cup with contract matters resolved, while the club benefits from stability in a key area of the squad.
