Ryan Mason has been appointed as the new head coach of West Bromwich Albion, taking over before the 2025-26 season. He has agreed to a three-year contract with the Championship team, succeeding Tony Mowbray, who was let go on April 21. Mason is enthusiastic about his new role and the opportunities it presents at The Hawthorns.
Mason's coaching journey includes seven years at Tottenham Hotspur, where he also played from 2008 to 2016. During his time there, he stepped in as interim head coach twice after the departures of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. In these stints, he managed Spurs for 12 Premier League matches, securing six victories.

The club expressed their excitement about Mason's arrival through a tweet:
Mason shared his excitement about joining West Brom, stating that he sees great potential in the club's infrastructure and fanbase. "This is a huge club with a fantastic infrastructure and an incredible fanbase, and I am excited about what we can achieve together," said Mason.
After extensive discussions with the board and club members, Mason feels confident that West Brom is the ideal place for him. He is eager to begin his journey with them. "Having spoken at length to the board and those at the club, I am convinced that Albion is the perfect place for me to be, and I can't wait to get started," he stated.
Mason brings enthusiasm, dedication, and ambition to his new role. He looks forward to building a positive future with West Brom. Last season, West Brom finished ninth in the Championship, narrowly missing out on a play-off spot by just four points.
The Baggies have been absent from the Premier League since their relegation in 2021. With Mason's leadership, they aim to improve their performance and strive for promotion back to the top tier of English football.
