As the game went into penalties, it was India's custodian Gurpreet Singh Sandhu who emerged the strongest from the spot. Mohammed Abdullah crashed into the crossbar and then Sandhu saved Khaled Hajiah's shot spectacularly in the sudden death as India won 5-4 in the penalties.
