The 2023 SAFF Championship draw took place on Wednesday (May 17) and India have found a place with arch-rivals Pakistan.
The South Asian Football Federation Championship 2023 will be held in India as Bengaluru will host the tournament.

SAFF Championship 2023 will be starting from June 21. The tournament final will be played on July 4.
India's Bengaluru was chosen by AIFF as the host city for the tournament. The matches can be played in multiple stadiums of the city. Sree Kanteerava Stadium will host all the tournament matches.
The tournament is going to have 8 teams this year, three more than the last time when it was held in 2021.
The 8 teams of the SAFF Championship have been divided into two groups of four each. Hosts India were slotted in Group A automatically before the draw, and Pakistan, Kuwait and Nepal have joined them.
In the Group B, Maldives, Bangladesh and Bhutan will be having Lebanon as the 4th team.

India are the most successful team in SAFF Championship history. The Blue Tigers have 8 titles. Maldives have won the tournament twice, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have also won it once each.
