Borussia Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin called for improvements after his team drew 0-0 with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Saturday. The match at Weserstadion saw a lacklustre attacking display from BVB, with substitute Karim Adeyemi's 20-yard effort being their best chance in the second half.
Despite having nine shots, Dortmund only managed an expected goals (xG) total of 0.63 and had just 14 touches in the penalty area compared to Bremen's 22. The situation worsened when centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 73rd minute, forcing Dortmund to hold on for a point.

Sahin expressed his frustration, stating, "As Borussia Dortmund, we have to perform differently, even if the team has undergone changes and has a new coach." He dismissed using the transfer window as an excuse, adding, "It would be a very cheap excuse to say it is because of the transfer window. We have worked very well in the market. Still, we are expected to play better."
Dortmund currently have four points from their first two Bundesliga games this season. They will host Heidenheim on September 13 before facing Club Brugge in their Champions League opener five days later.
The team's next fixtures are crucial as they aim to improve their performance and secure better results. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how Sahin's side responds to his call for improvement.
