Paris Saint-Germain moved closer to securing their 13th Ligue 1 title with a commanding 6-1 victory over Saint-Etienne, despite initially trailing. Desire Doue was instrumental, scoring twice in the match. PSG now await the outcome of Monaco's game against Nice, hoping for a draw, after Marseille's loss to Reims worked in their favour.
Saint-Etienne surprised PSG early on when Lucas Stassin scored with a header from Zuriko Davitashvili's cross just nine minutes into the game. Despite this setback, PSG gradually found their rhythm but struggled to challenge Gautier Larsonneur in Saint-Etienne's goal. Attempts by Lucas Beraldo and Fabian Ruiz went over the bar.

Just before halftime, PSG were given a lifeline when Florian Tardieu fouled Goncalo Ramos in the box. Ramos converted the penalty to level the score. However, Saint-Etienne nearly regained the lead shortly after, but Matvey Safonov denied Stassin's effort.
The second half saw PSG rejuvenated. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia capitalised on Mickael Nade's error to put PSG ahead in the 50th minute. Three minutes later, Doue added another goal, and Joao Neves extended their lead just after an hour of play by beating Larsonneur.
Doue continued his impressive performance by scoring again with a powerful shot into the net, making it four goals for PSG. Ibrahim Mbaye sealed the emphatic win late on with his first Ligue 1 goal, assisted selflessly by Barcola inside the box.
Saint-Etienne had hoped to end their 27-game winless streak against PSG with their strong start. However, Luis Enrique’s team maintained their excellent away form. They have not lost any of their last 38 Ligue 1 away matches (30 wins and eight draws), matching AC Milan’s record from 1991 to 1993 among Europe's top leagues.
This victory also marked a personal milestone for Fabian Ruiz, who surpassed Marquinhos' record for consecutive unbeaten games in France’s top division. Ruiz has now gone 49 matches without defeat with PSG, surpassing Marquinhos' streak of 48 games between May 2014 and March 2016.
Doue’s outstanding display was pivotal in this triumph. He led his team with five chances created, three shots on target, and had an impressive 97 touches during the match. This season, he has contributed significantly with nine goals and 11 assists across all competitions.
