Samuel Iling-Junior has moved to Bologna on a loan deal for the season from Aston Villa. The 20-year-old player joined Villa in early July, part of a dual transfer from Juventus alongside Enzo Barrenechea, with the total fee being £18.6 million.
Iling-Junior has not been included in any of Aston Villa's matchday squads since the Premier League season began. Leon Bailey and Morgan Rogers have been favoured for the wide positions instead. Last season, Iling-Junior played 27 matches for Juventus across all competitions, scoring once and providing two assists. His contributions helped Juventus secure the Coppa Italia in May.

Bologna have yet to secure a win this Serie A season. They drew against Udinese and suffered a defeat to Napoli. Despite these results, Bologna are set to compete in the Champions League, marking their first appearance in the tournament since 1964.
This move provides Iling-Junior an opportunity for more playing time and development at Bologna. The club is looking to improve its standing in Serie A while also preparing for its Champions League campaign.
