Arsenal want Draxler to replace Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez could also leave on the deadline day for Manchester City.

Kolkata, August 31: Things are not all going well for Arsenal this season. After experiencing a difficult start to the new season, the transfer window has given them further blow.

Star winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on his way out to Liverpool and Alexis Sanchez could also leave on the deadline day for Manchester City.

Arsenal have been pretty stubborn over the future of Sanchez thus far in the window but reports suggest Wenger is now considering to sell the Chilean for a fee in excess for £60million.

Sanchez will be a free agent in 12 months and it’s pretty much evident that he will not sign a new deal which means Arsenal will loose him for free next summer. So, a fee of £60million plus has made Arsene Wenger reconsider the option.

However, Wenger is adamant about getting a replacement of the Chilean before letting him go and have identified Paris Saint-Germain star Julian Draxler as the potential replacement of the South American.

Wenger is a long admirer of Draxler from his Schalke days and a deal for the German could finally happen now as PSG also are looking to balance their books.

Wenger is also monitoring the situation of Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez. However, the former is very close to a Liverpool move as per reports.

PSG could be ready to sell on Thursday to help them balance their books as they close in on Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe having already splurged a world-record £199m on Barcelona forward Neymar in this window. So, they could accept a lower bid for Draxler, whom they signed just in January.

Sanchez has made it clear he wants to leave without actually putting in an official transfer request and City are confident of getting a deal for him done.

The 28-year-old is currently back home on international duty, with Chile playing Paraguay in Santiago on Thursday night.
