Mark Bullingham, the Football Association's chief executive, has praised England's manager Sarina Wiegman, calling her invaluable when discussing her future with the team. Wiegman led England to their third consecutive major tournament final after a thrilling extra-time win over Italy at Euro 2025. She aims to secure a third straight Women's Euros title, having previously won in 2017 with the Netherlands and in 2022 with England.
Wiegman's impressive record includes becoming the first manager in either men's or women's football to reach five consecutive major international finals. This achievement spans two tournaments with the Netherlands—Euro 2017 and the 2019 World Cup—and three with England. Her leadership has been instrumental in England's recent successes.

England faces a challenging match against Spain in a repeat of the 2023 World Cup final, where Spain emerged victorious with a 1-0 win. The two teams have met three times before at the Women's Euros. Spain won 3-2 during the group stage in 2013, while England claimed victories in 2017 and 2022.
Spain is on a remarkable run, having won their last nine games at major tournaments. They aim to become the first nation since Germany (2001-2009) to win both the World Cup and Euros consecutively. Meanwhile, Wiegman remains contracted to England until 2027.
If Wiegman wins another Women's Euros title, she will join Gero Bisanz and Tina Theune as one of only three managers to achieve this feat three times. Her victory over Italy marked her 100th win as an international manager, with 48 of those wins coming with England.
Bullingham expressed his admiration for Wiegman's accomplishments: "I want to pay tribute to Sarina. I think her record individually is phenomenal." He highlighted her unique achievement of reaching five finals across five tournaments, noting that no one else has come close.
Bullingham confirmed that there is no price that would convince the FA to let Wiegman leave: "No price at all. We are committed to her until 2027 and she is committed to us." He mentioned plans for a new coaching team for Wiegman and expressed hope for continued success beyond Sunday's final.
Bullingham also stated: "When I spoke to [the media] before the tournament, I said we were lucky to have her and I still feel that way." He emphasized how special Wiegman is as a coach and expressed delight in having her lead the team.
