Scotland has announced a provisional squad for the upcoming Summer European Championship. It will be their fourth participation in this tournament after 1992, 1996 and 2020.
In their previous participation in Euro, they failed to surpass the hurdles of the group stages. This Euro also, challenge will be immense for Scotland, as they are in Group A with Germany, Hungary and Switzerland.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke has announced an extended squad of 28 players, which will be trimmed down to 26. Despite having an injury-hit squad, Scotland has enough firepower in their team to act as surprise elements, which can change the equations of the tournament.
After a long break due to injury, the 41-year-old Craig Gordon has been called up as one of the four goalkeepers, alongside Angus Gunn, Liam Kelly and Zander Clarke. However, it is very unlikely that all of them will travel to Germany.
In defence, for the right back spot, there will be competition between Ross McCrorie of Bristol City and Anthony Ralston of the Celtics. It will be interesting to see in which position Clarke will use Liverpool's Andy Robertson. His combination with Kieran Tierney will be a key factor if Scotland progresses.
Lewis Ferguson will miss the Euro due to an ACL injury, and Ryan Jack will be the most probable alternative in the midfield. Aston Villa captain John McGinn and Manchester United's Scott McTominay will also feature in this squad.
Liverpool's Ben Doak has been called up for the first time to play for the senior squad. Lawrence Shankland, after a brilliant season in the Scottish Premiership, has been awarded a spot in the squad. Though he will compete with Southampton’s Che Adams for a place in the first XI, who is recovering from a calf injury. Lyndon Dykes will be their other option as a forward, who has good statistics with the Scotland jersey.
This provisional squad will be trimmed into a 26-man squad, probably by June 7, on the day of Scotland's final warm-up match against England.
Scotland will start their campaign against Germany on June 14 in the opening match of Euro 2024. The next matches will be against Switzerland (June 19) and Hungary (June 23).
