Pop singer Selena Gomez has joined the duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to become the three most-followed celebrity on popular picture-sharing online platform Instagram.
Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms, especially among celebrities and top world personalities where they connect with fans.

She has also become the most followed female on Instagram ahead of the likes of Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande, and Kim Kardashian, among others. Selena is only behind football superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi right now in terms of number of followers.

Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi currently boasts 442 million followers on his official Instagram handle, @Leomessi, which has well over 1000 posts. The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner also boasts the most-liked post on Instagram.
Messi's post on December 18, as he celebrated the 2022 FIFA World Cup win with his teammates, attracted well over 75 million likes on the platform, beating the record of that of 'The Egg', which had over 59 million likes.
Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, remains the most-followed celebrity on Instagram for a long time now boasting 562 million followers on his official Instagram handle @Cristiano, with well over 3400 posts.
Kylie Jenner, Dwayne 'The Rosk' Johnson, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, Khloé Kardashian and Justin Bieber complete the list of top ten most followed celebrities in the world. Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli is the only cricket player and the only Indian among the top 20 whereas Neymar Jr. is the only other footballer in the top 20 apart from Messi and Ronaldo.
