Senne Lammens Emerges As Manchester United Goalkeeper For The Next Decade, Ferdinand Says

Rio Ferdinand believes Senne Lammens is ready to keep the Manchester United goalkeeper shirt for the next decade. Ferdinand sees Lammens as a long-term number one, with maturity that fits United’s current push near the top of the Premier League table.

Manchester United sit third in the Premier League with two matches left. Erik ten Hag’s side still face Nottingham Forest and Brighton, and Lammens is expected to continue in goal as United try to secure their position before the campaign ends.

Senne Lammens to lead United goalkeeping

Lammens joined Manchester United from Royal Antwerp last summer and moved straight into the starting role. The Belgian is 23 and has already played 30 Premier League games this season, showing reliability as United balanced domestic pressure and expectations from supporters.

Advanced numbers also underline Lammens’ impact. In goals prevented, Lammens ranks second in the league with 6.3, just behind Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen on 6.5. These figures highlight consistent shot-stopping, which has supported United’s push for a top-three finish.

The calmness that he's brought, the amount of saves that he's made and the difference-making that he's made with this team, I don't think you can put a number on that, Ferdinand said on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast. He's been superb and he's young. That's what I love about him, he's young, he's still going to be getting more experienceand he's only going to get better from now on.

Ferdinand also praised Lammens’ mentality, stressing a steady approach in both strong and weak performances. I don't think it matters how good or bad he plays, I think he'll be the same levelvery level-headed and he won't get out of his pram too much about anything. I think he's one for the next 10 years at Manchester United, he's going to be the number one. He's someone again, got a definite great foundation to start building from what he's shown this season.

Ferdinand’s assessment places Lammens as a central figure in Manchester United’s future planning. With age on Lammens’ side, strong statistics, and evident trust from former players, United appear settled in the goalkeeper position heading into seasons beyond this Premier League campaign.
