Sergio Ramos hopes Neymar leaves Barcelona

Sergio Ramos has openly stated that he wishes Neymar leaves Barcelona, who are his club's arch nemesis in La Liga.

Madrid, July 31: Real Madrid were beaten by rivals Barcelona by a 3-2 score line in the International Champions Cup and post-match, Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos told the media that he hopes it was the last time he faced Neymar in a Barcelona shirt.

The Real Madrid defender swapped his shirt with the Brazilian after the clubs' friendly in Miami on Saturday (July 29) night, a game lit up by Neymar, 25, who assisted twice in Barca's 3-2 win.

The Brazilian superstar has been subjected to a world record £190 million move to Paris Saint-Germain. Neymar fuelled more speculation to his potential transfer after being involved in a heated row with his new Barcelona team-mate Nelson Semedo during a training session.

Neymar's departure would be a serious blow to Barcelona. Ramos, who is known as a genuine hater of the Catalan club, openly stated that he would love to face Barcelona without Neymar the next time.

"I have a good relationship with him," he told the media.

"We changed shirts at the end and I hope that's the last time I get a Barca one from him, that wouldn't be a problem for us at all!

"He didn't tell me anything. Everyone is free to decide their own future. I think he is a great player and a key man for Barcelona - it's up to him to decide his future."

Barca head coach Ernesto Valverde, who succeeded Luis Enrique this summer, is keen to keep hold of Neymar, tried to downplay that the Real match could have been his last game in a Barcelona shirt.

"I try to talk about what is happening right now," he said.

"Neymar is here with us, we count on him and we think that he should help us out this year."
