Kieffer Moore's impressive two goals secured Sheffield United's position at the top of the Championship table for Christmas. They defeated Cardiff City 2-0 on Saturday. The first half was uneventful, with only one shot on target from both teams. However, Sheffield United took control in the second half and scored just after the hour mark.
Moore expertly controlled Alfie Gilchrist's cross with his chest before striking a left-footed shot past Jak Alnwick into the net. Eight minutes later, he doubled both his and Sheffield United's tally by scoring from the edge of the area, adding to Cardiff City's woes under Omer Riza.

Leeds United remains close behind Sheffield United after a convincing 4-0 victory over Oxford United at Elland Road. Manor Solomon played a key role, scoring once and assisting twice. Daniel James opened the scoring in the ninth minute following Solomon's excellent play, while Jayden Bogle added another goal after halftime.
Interim manager Craig Short watched as his team struggled against their opponents. Brenden Aaronson secured the win with a straightforward finish past Jamie Cumming. Solomon capped off his outstanding performance by scoring in the 73rd minute from a tight angle after Joel Piroe's setup.
Burnley also kept pace with the Championship leaders by defeating Watford 2-1 at Turf Moor, maintaining their unbeaten home record this season. Zian Flemming allowed Josh Brownhill's cross to reach Jaidon Anthony, who volleyed it in at the back post early in the match.
Scott Parker's team deservedly extended their lead after an hour when Anthony and Hannibal Mejbri set up Brownhill for a fine finish into the corner. Despite Watford rarely threatening, Kwadwo Baah scored to create a tense ending, but Burnley held on for victory.
Sunderland achieved victory against fellow play-off contenders Norwich City, coming from behind to win despite Norwich being reduced to ten men. Anis Ben Slimane gave Norwich an early lead in the 21st minute by capitalising on a scramble inside Sunderland's box.
Dan Ballard equalised two minutes into the second half by heading Eliezer Mayenda's cross past Angus Gunn. Norwich then went down to ten men when Jose Cordoba received a second yellow card for a high boot against Chris Mepham.
Sunderland took advantage shortly after when Dennis Cirkin's backheel found Jobe Bellingham, who curled it into the far corner after evading a defender.
Middlesbrough drew 3-3 with Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle at Home Park despite trailing three times during the match. Plymouth dominated early and led through Lewis Gibson’s header. Middlesbrough equalised five minutes into the second half via Jonny Howson.
Plymouth regained their lead through Darko Gyabi with 20 minutes remaining. Hayden Hackney levelled again seven minutes later before Mustapha Bundu restored Plymouth’s advantage from Gyabi’s delivery. Emmanuel Latte Lath scored late on to ensure Middlesbrough shared points.
The draw saw Plymouth drop to last place following wins by relegation rivals Portsmouth and Hull City earlier that day.
