Shillong Lajong Head Coach Jose Hevia chose a 4-3-3 formation, with Brazilian forward Marcos Rudwere Silva leading the attack. Despite a strong start from the Nepal side, Shillong Lajong took the lead in the sixth minute and continued to create opportunities.

However, they lacked composure in front of goal, with Hardy Cliff Nongbri, Everbrighton Sana, and Marcos Rudwere Silva missing key chances. In the second half, Shillong maintained their attacking play but struggled to find a second goal due to poor finishing.

Rangdajied United FC’s Head Coach Aibanjop Shadap also went with a traditional 4-3-3 formation. Despite heavy rain making the pitch difficult, both teams were aggressive from the beginning. RUFC took the lead in the 19th minute when Pajuh capitalized on a defensive mistake to score a brilliant long-range goal.

Both teams fought hard, with RUFC effectively exploiting gaps with precise passing. Although FCG created several dangerous chances, RUFC's Aenam consistently challenged the Gaurs, who defended solidly.
