This has been a difficult season for Liverpool as they look destined to not only finish the season trophyless but also potentially missing out on Champions League football.
The Reds have struggled in every department but the area they have let down the most is in the middle of the park. It is therefore quite evident why Liverpool are being strongly linked with additions in midfield.

Alexander-Arnold has been widely tipped by many to become a success in a midfield role due to his unique skillset. Klopp has also played him in a midfield role in Liverpool's last two games in which he has shined.
Alexander-Arnold is a gifted player in terms of creativity and intelligent passing but his defending has always divided opinions. The Liverpool number sixty-six has been exploited on a regular basis this season letting the Reds down. Using him in a midfield role and signing a new right-back could prove to be a huge gamechanger for the Reds.
At just 24 years of age, Alexander-Arnold is still quite young and could reinvent himself in a new role in the middle of the park. He has 15 goals and 68 assists in 265 games for Liverpool till date despite playing as a full-back.
Playing such a fantastic creative player in midfield could turn out to be a masterstroke from Klopp as the player will get more freedom to hurt opponents in that role.
