Six boys qualify for training at FC Bayern Football school

Kolkata, May 26 (UNI) Six boys were selected today for a week-long coaching camp to be held at the FC Bayern Football School after they successfully completed a soccer clinic sponsored by Adidas.

The six boys, in the age group of 8-14 years, emerged winners among 48 contestants in the Adidas FC Bayern Football clinic held at the CCFC ground under Oliver Kahn's supervision.

Suvam Sarkar, Suraj, Ziarat Ali, Joel Fernandez, Yohan Confectioner and Vedhant Jaiswal will be flown to Germany by Lufthansa, who are sponsoring the travel to attend the football camp, which is yet to be fixed.

FIFA World Cup's 2002 golden ball winner German goalkeeper Oliver Kahn said, '' It's a great privilege for me to come to Kolkata. '' He said the city was passionate about football. '' Their enthusiasm for the game and their talent is extremely praiseworthy and it gives me great joy to be a part of sports programme, ''Kahn said after the football clinic.

Adidas India Managing Director Andreas Gellner said football was becoming extremely popular in India and the company would do everything for the promotion of soccer at the grassroot level.
