Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham's £65 million signing, Dominic Solanke, will be absent from this weekend's Premier League match against Everton. Solanke, who debuted in their 1-1 draw with Leicester City, sustained an ankle injury during the game. This injury is a significant setback for Postecoglou as he aims to improve on last season's fifth-place finish.
Solanke made an impressive start at King Power Stadium, leading the team with three shots and three shots on target. His eight touches in the opposition box were only surpassed by Son Heung-min's ten. The 26-year-old striker had 22 goal involvements (19 goals and three assists) for Bournemouth last season, ranking joint-ninth in the division.

Postecoglou stated, "Dom picked up a knock in the last game. He got through the game, but it flared up the day after, and he'll miss the game tomorrow." This means Solanke will have missed more league minutes for Spurs after Saturday than he did throughout the entire 2023-24 season.
Rodrigo Bentancur will also be unavailable following a serious head collision against Leicester City. The Uruguayan midfielder was stretchered off in the 78th minute after an incident inside the area. Postecoglou mentioned that they are taking extra precautions due to concussion protocols.
"Irrespective of concussion protocols, any head injury we've always got to be more conservative from my perspective," Postecoglou said. "He's bounced back really well, he's done all the tests and feels good but we'll take our time with Rodrigo to make sure he's absolutely 100 per cent before we put him out there again."
There was better news regarding defender Pedro Porro, who appeared to struggle during the match against Leicester. Postecoglou confirmed that Porro trained this week without issues and is available for selection.
"Pedro [Porro] is fine; he trained this week and we have no other concerns," said Postecoglou.
Yves Bissouma will return to Spurs' squad after being suspended for the Leicester match due to a video surfacing on social media showing him inhaling nitrous oxide. Postecoglou commented on Bissouma's availability: "Biss is available but we've got some options there. The whole idea of trying to bulk up the squad is for these situations."
The absence of key players like Solanke and Bentancur presents challenges for Tottenham as they prepare to face Everton. However, with Bissouma's return and Porro's recovery, Spurs hope to maintain their competitive edge in upcoming matches.
