Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dismissed speculation about signing Marcus Rashford for Besiktas. Solskjaer, who recently became Besiktas' head coach, managed Rashford at Manchester United from 2018 to 2021. The Turkish club, currently sixth in the league and 20 points behind Galatasaray, is seeking new players in the January transfer window.
Besiktas has been without a manager since December after parting ways with Giovanni van Bronckhorst due to a poor start. Solskjaer aims to strengthen the squad as they face potential elimination from the Europa League. Rashford, who hasn't played for United since their loss to Nottingham Forest, is among those linked with a move.

During his time at Manchester United, Rashford scored 55 goals and provided 24 assists under Solskjaer's management. This remains his highest goal involvement with any single manager at the club. Despite this history, Solskjaer clarified he hasn't contacted Rashford or Casemiro about joining Besiktas.
Solskjaer addressed these rumours before Besiktas' Europa League match against Athletic Bilbao. He told TRT Spor, "There's always a lot of speculation about Manchester United players, always a lot of speculation around me." He emphasised that while both Rashford and Casemiro are talented players, he hasn't spoken to them.
The new head coach is exploring various transfer options for different positions. Assistant coach Serdar Topraktepe plays a crucial role in this process. Solskjaer noted that the team dynamics are improving, saying, "It feels like the group, the energy, they are gelling well together."
Solskjaer's focus remains on building a cohesive unit at Besiktas with his coaching staff's support. The collaboration between coaches and assistants is vital as they navigate through the season's challenges.
As Besiktas looks to improve its standing in both domestic and European competitions, Solskjaer's leadership will be key. His experience and strategic approach aim to bring success to the club amidst ongoing transfer talks.
