Tottenham Hotspur's captain, Son Heung-min, expressed disappointment over the team's recent performance following a 2-1 defeat by Leicester City at their home ground. Despite taking an early lead through Richarlison, Tottenham conceded two quick goals after halftime from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss. This loss marks Tottenham's longest winless streak in the Premier League since 2008, with seven games without a victory.
Their current form has seen them drop to 15th place in the league standings. Injuries have plagued the squad throughout the season, affecting key players. However, Son dismissed injuries as an excuse for their poor results. "It is painful. It's happened a few times already this season," he stated. "It feels like scoring goals is so hard, but conceding goals is way too easy."

Son acknowledged that concentration lapses and sloppiness have contributed to their struggles. He emphasized the need for the team to regroup and address these issues collectively. "We knew they were going to come," Son said about Leicester's comeback. "We're going to have to sit down and talk about what went wrong."
Despite playing more matches than anticipated, Son remains committed to his role and believes mental resilience is crucial for improvement. "Mentally, we just have to refresh and get ready and go again," he added. The captain understands that winning can boost morale but admits it is challenging after such defeats.
Currently, Tottenham are eight points above the relegation zone, yet Son refrains from labeling their situation as a relegation battle. "It is definitely not good enough," he admitted regarding their numerous losses this season. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about upcoming matches with many players expected to return from injury.
"We've had way too many losses, but there are still a lot of games remaining," Son noted. He stressed that the focus should be on each game individually with the aim of securing three points every time they play.
The defeat against Leicester was historically significant as it was Tottenham's first home loss against a team on a seven-game losing streak since facing Notts County in 1912. This highlights the severity of their current predicament.
