The Indian Super League (ISL) is set for a major broadcasting development ahead of the 2025-26 season, with Sony Sports Network expected to become the league's official television partner. The agreement is reportedly in its final stages, with only formal documentation and signatures remaining before the deal is confirmed.
FanCode, which secured the exclusive media rights for the upcoming season, is understood to have reached an advanced agreement with Sony Sports to handle television coverage as per a report by Khel Now.

A source familiar with the negotiations indicated that all major terms have already been finalised, with the remaining paperwork likely to be completed soon. Once formalised, Sony Sports will take charge of national television broadcasts, while FanCode will retain digital streaming rights for the competition.
FanCode obtained the ISL's 2025-26 media rights after winning Package B in the All India Football Federation (AIFF) tender process with a bid of ₹8.62 crore. The package included both digital and television rights, despite FanCode primarily operating as a streaming platform. The decision to sublicense TV coverage aligns with the company's distribution strategy, allowing it to ensure wide television reach while continuing to focus on its digital subscriber base.
Sony Sports Network's involvement is expected to provide a significant boost to the league's visibility. With established sports channels and strong football broadcasting experience, the network is likely to help maintain consistent national exposure for the ISL. The arrangement also ensures greater accessibility for fans, who will be able to follow matches through both television and online streaming platforms.
In terms of production, KPS Studios will manage the world-feed broadcast after winning Package E with a ₹5.22 crore bid. Following production expenses, the league's estimated net media revenue for the 2025-26 season is expected to be around ₹3.4 crore.
The upcoming ISL season will feature 14 teams competing in a home-and-away format, producing a total of 91 matches. The campaign is scheduled to kick off on February 14, 2026, in Kolkata, where defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant will host Kerala Blasters FC.
