Manchester City were held to a goalless draw by Southampton at St Mary's Stadium, missing an opportunity to strengthen their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes. Despite dominating possession, City couldn't find the net against a struggling Southampton side that managed only two shots throughout the match. Jeremy Doku's introduction at half-time brought some life into City's attack, but they failed to capitalise on their chances.

Southampton's defence held firm, with Jack Stephens blocking a promising effort from Bernardo Silva set up by Doku. In the dying moments of the game, Omar Marmoush hit the crossbar, adding to City's frustration. Despite a challenging season, Southampton's draw means they avoid equalling Derby County's record low points tally from 2007-08.
