Spain vs England, Euro 2024: Former English footballer Mark Seagraves backs Three Lions to win it all

Spain and England are set to face each other in the Euro 2024 final coming Sunday. Both teams deemed favorites to win the cup prior to the tournament are now on the verge of winning the trophy. It is bound to be an amazing clash and former English footballer Mark Seagraves backs his country to win it all.

Answering myKhel’s question if England could break their curse, he said, “Well, I personally think they'll win it… Can they win it? Absolutely, they can. Will they win it? Not too sure. Because we're [England] playing against a team [Spain] that has done ever so well… They've proven they have got what it takes to win a tournament like this.”

He further said, “So it's not gonna be an easy night for England, but England have labored through to this final and I just feel at some point, they're gonna put it all together… England are experienced at this level now… So I think that's gonna come for a lot also. So all that being said, I think England will just edge it.”

Three out of the six knockout games went into extra time in this Euro 2024 while two of them were decided with penalty shootouts. Both England and Spain are strong contenders, so this game could also go to a penalty shootout. In that case, Seagraves backed England to have better odds.

He said, “I think England will have better odds. They've had a penalty shootout already and they've had the loss of the last Euros against Italy fresh in their mind also. I know they do an awful lot of practice on penalties after every training session.”

He added, “So, their experience will stand them in good stead. I do think it's gonna be a really tight game. If there's an early goal, then, obviously, the gloves are off and both teams will go hard at it. But, I do believe that England will hold the aces in that respect.”
