Sunderland Secures Victory Over Luton Town To Move Clear At Championship Summit

Sunderland secured a 2-1 victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, moving three points clear at the top of the Championship. This win came after Leeds had temporarily matched Sunderland's points by defeating Watford. Romaine Mundle scored the decisive goal shortly after the hour mark, following Chris Rigg's opener and Elijah Adebayo's equaliser.

Burnley joined Leeds in trailing Sunderland by three points after a 1-1 draw with Hull City at the MKM Stadium. Xavier Simon put Hull ahead with a deflected shot before Zian Flemming equalised for Burnley. Despite a late chance, Scott Parker's team couldn't secure all three points as Jaidon Anthony missed from close range.

Sheffield United suffered their second consecutive defeat, losing 1-0 to Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium. Emmanuel Latte Lath scored the only goal in the 80th minute from Finn Azaz's cross. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi had an earlier attempt blocked on the line by Luke Ayling.
